This word has been in my field all year, but in the last month it's been front and center. The word is simple, "conformity in the application of something," is the short definition, and when applied to the learning of a skill, the success of a business, or the progress of health--consistency is the 'X Factor.' It is the foundation for all things--it is our breath and our heartbeat, it is the sunlight that makes plants grow. When we want to make a change in our life, we often take on more than we can chew, whether it's exercising, diet, meditation, or even career; if you remodel your life completely from the way it looks now, it will likely not be a sustainable remodel. In our nutrition world we say "one simple change" at a time. Add more water for 21 days, and focus just on that. Add in a 2-mile walk for 21 days, and focus just on that. Why? Because it takes 21 days to create a habit. Mike Dooley and Deepak Chopra have made the 21-day course part of their foundation for education. And in that foundation, lies the method of consistency. Daily, concerted action towards the creation of a new habit, and ultimately, a new you. So this fall, take a look at your 4th quarter goals and intentions, pick one that you can chunk down into 21-day changes, and then focus on one change at a time, doing so for just 5 minutes a day. Consistency is the true power in willpower. Archives September 2021

About a month ago, my gatekeeper guide, Merlin, reminded me that I need to return to Crystal Gridding—layouts of crystals to amplify their power. I stored the idea away, and then when we were shopping for a crystal for our 15th anniversary, we walked into a store that had crystals layouts all over the store. I haven't been to a crystal shop in a long while, but the last two I was in didn't have any grids. So of course, I took this as a second reminder. Then, the equinox came, and when I took a few crystals outside to bathe in the full moon equinox energy, one by one, all of our crystals said "take me outside too!" Before I knew it, we had a giant layout on our deck. I decided to leave it there to marinate in that beauty of color. I urge you to take your stones and make a layout. If this become something you love, seek out Melody's book titled the Laying on of Stones, because crystal layouts can be a compelling practice! But start simple, with a towel or a piece of fabric (I like my old elk hide I traded for about 2 decades ago!), and start with a design—perhaps a circle, or a star, or a square. Let the crystals and your intentions guide you, perhaps write your intentions on a piece of paper and place the layout over that, and then use this as an alter for meditation and visualization for the next week, two, or more. Don't overthink the layout, and if after a day you want to switch it up, that's okay! Think of it like a child's play of imagination, and let your heart open up while doing it. Here are some images to inspire you. Archives September 2021 In our last email, we talked about the world that no longer serves you... And in our video with Shamanic Practitioner Julie Tucek this week we covered what that means a little deeper... be it the job, relationship, location, mindset, or food intake, if it's no longer serving you, it's time to let it go. But the world that will stand by you forever, and the world that needs your love and gratitude, is our Mother Earth and all her splendor. As exhibited by her erratic weather patterns, depleted soil and minerals, and struggling animal kingdom, Mother Earth needs us right now. So be a good human and see what you can do in your community to help her; spend some time in reflection, meditation and visualization to send her love and healing; and give back in ways that feel good to you, because that will, in turn, feel good to her. When you're dancing at a show, think of her supporting your feet. When you're swimming in her waters, send her aqua kingdom love and light. When you're in her forests, take a moment to hug a tree and ground with its roots. Many of us are focused on "getting into 5D," but we can't do that without our Mother's anchoring, grounding energy to balance the universe's uplifting, enlightening energy. The in-between is where the magic is. Archives September 2021 Last week we talked about the world that no longer serves us, and how letting go of the masculine energy will help us step into the Divine Feminine. What's been on my mind lately is the community I know I will be a part of creating soon. Since living on an "intentional community" in Oregon in the 1990s, I have wanted to create a community with intention. One with a lot of land in the woods, with huge gardens to support its residents, and with a group of people who want to make the world a better place. If the last 18 months have taught me anything, it's that this vision of mine is more important to manifest than ever. More and more of my friends are talking about similar visions, and I know many thought leaders of our time have talked about this concept being perhaps our only shot at healing and repairing what damage we've done to Mother Earth. In this model lies the true human potential and defines a new way to be human. A way that thinks about the whole again—the collective; the community; the future. Letting go of the "nuclear family" model and embracing the communal family model again. This is actually the "old way," isn't it? Where tribes took care of each other, and built sustainable systems with longevity as a goal, thinking about a world they were building (and leaving) for their children and grandchildren. We've lost this way in our modern industrial age, and now is the time to recreate some of that model, with adjustments that fit our modern age. This "new" way is a way to connect and bridge those worlds—and connection is indeed a key to unlocking that true human potential. So, in the spirit of connection, write to me, and tell me, if you were to create a community like this, what would you want to see included? Skies the limit. Think of the collective. Archives September 2021 Last week I talked about Being the Light – choosing to be, inspire, and embody that which you want to see in the world, so that we can create a better one. What's been on our hearts this week is that we are all starting to see that the old way doesn't work anymore. We are shifting into the Divine Feminine reality and man, oh man (pun intended), is that hard to let go of for most of us. For one, the new way is undefined. And when we long for safety, well, undefined is just plain scary. But another reason it's hard to let go of is because we've lived this way our whole life and patterns run deep. So, it's up to us to derail the train and create a new track. If you haven't been hearing the term "Divine Feminine" in the last few years, deep dive that one to read a variety of perspectives. For me, it means letting go of an outdated, patriarchal society that isn't open to releasing power because in a world where Ego rules, Ego will grasp the old reality until the white knuckles bleed. For me, it's hard to let go of the Masculine way because it can mean logical decision making, strength in the face of fear, and security in that. But when I embrace my feminine side, it is a joy to allow fluidity and let synchronicity guide me, to be compassionate and loving, to be strong in a different way – a more grounded, balanced, and relenting way. The Divine Feminine reality is open to diversity, schools our children differently, grows our food more sustainably, treats the Earth more responsibly, lets go of anger, resentment, litigation, and manipulation. What has to fall away are some pretty big belief systems like the way we build communities, the way we look at health, and the way we make money. It will take time, but we are doing this work NOW. And we all came here now TO do this work. So don't shy away from it. Lean in and embrace it, embrace that together we are manifesting a new way to Be Human. And don't give up on that. More on the new way next week. . . until then, give yourself grace in this. It's OK that it's going to be a bumpy ride. Archives |
